Silver Spoon wins 2012 Manga Taishou Awards

The results of the 2012 Manga Taishou Awards were announced today with Arakawa Hiromu’s Silver Spoon winning first prize. She beat other works such as Dai Tokyo Toybox by Ume, Nobunaga Concerto by Ishii Ayumi and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinchuu by Kumota Haruko.

Previous winners of the award (which was founded in 2008) have been Ishizuka Shinichi’s Gaku, Suetsugu Yuki’s Chihayafuru, Yamazaki Mari’s Thermae Romae and Umino Chika’s 3 Gatsu no Lion.
